A bit about me...
My name is Kim, and I was born and raised in Ohio, where the patch of land by the road is called a devil strip, a vacuum is called a sweeper, and soda is called pop. And, of course, where Lebron is from. I have resided there for most of my life, except for the five and a half years I lived in Kennesaw, Georgia. I consider myself both a Buckeye and a Peach. I knew I wanted to be a writer in the fourth grade when my teacher was impressed with my simple story about a frog who got lost on the way back home, lol!
Although I spent most of my career in risk management and quality control, my experience primarily focused on administrative functions like business communications, including writing documents, training materials, and information management. I was always the go-to person in my circle of family and friends for editing academic papers, PowerPoint presentations, and such. I have also volunteered my writing services to several non-profit organizations.
I left corporate to start a small business with my husband. We operate Two Old Souls, Inc., a licensed, full-service online auction firm specializing in downsizing and estate sale auctions. We have been in e-commerce since 2002, selling on various platforms. I have used my writing skills to create product descriptions, titles, social media content, blog articles and website copy, and my administrative background to oversee daily operations. I have also learned a bit about visual marketing and work with Canva Pro daily.
I am working on my first book editing/ghostwriting project with a UK author. It's a historical fiction book about a couple in the 1800s who faced the torment of living through the Irish Famine and immigrated to America to survive. Writing comes naturally to me, and I have a unique ability to "mimic" other writers' voices, which is why people like my editing work.
I felt inspired to channel my administrative and writing skills into helping small online businesses and entrepreneurs thrive. My specialty is writing, editing, marketing and overall operations management.
In my spare time, I love hanging out with our three precocious dachshunds (Louie, George and Henry), traveling, visiting historical sites and waterfalls, hiking, and playing word games. I am a self-described latte junkie and pizza connoisseur, and, for total transparency, I have been accused of being a sarcasm guru. I plead The Fifth.

Because time is a precious commodity.
My why: I've taken on many roles in life - from being a wife and mother to pursuing small business ownership and writing. I am passionately independent, which fuels my dream of entrepreneurship. Independence was redefined for me; however, in 2017, when a rare endocrine tumor called a paraganglioma was discovered in my spinal cord. Although it was benign, it left me with severe, irreparable nerve and spine damage. Pain changes you, and this experience was a profound turning point that compelled me to reflect deeply on my life, purpose, relationship quality and the meaning of time.
Administrative services: as I navigated the difficult journey of becoming this new person, I reassessed what time meant. The physical limitations I faced pushed me to explore new avenues where I could express my passions. Rather than allowing my circumstances to dictate my path, I felt compelled to spend more time nurturing my relationships and channeling my skills and experiences into helping small businesses thrive. As they say, time is precious, and I want to help small business owners use their time more effectively by taking some of the more time-consuming operational tasks off their plates.
Writing: I knew I wanted to be a writer in the fourth grade. However, the mundanity of life sometimes gets in the way of our dreams, and you become more aware of this as you approach midlife. But if you are lucky, you get a wake-up call from the man upstairs and realize how precious time is (so is how you spend your time!). Mine was in the form of a tumor. I have a renewed passion for writing, and I hope to use my experience to inspire others to advocate for themselves in health and business. I hope my story demonstrates room for growth, creativity, and connection, even in adversity.
